Wedding in the fields

Mom saw people dancing in the middle of a field by the road on her return from an interview. They are coming from a nearby city of 3 hours to the small village to pick the bride. Then the bride and groom will move to another city two hours away. In the meanwhile, the groom’s side decided they were hungry (and wanted to dance) so they stopped here to eat. They stopped next to seasonal workers who came to pick chickpea and mom stopped to ask what was going on (so the already tiny village road was blocked for some time). There is a wedding party every night. People did not want to wait for end of the season (the tradition) as Ramadan (fasting) month will start in a week. Everybody wants to be over with weddings. We hear the drums all the time. Even the top floor of the building we stay is rented for parties. It is difficult to sleep when people are dancing on your ceiling till 11 pm once a week
