Are you relatives too?

We met a deaf-mute person in one of the villages. Her parents were cousins and their two daughters were born deaf. As they were never taken to a hospital or learned sign language (by the way, Turkish sign language only has 750 words), she came up with her own signs of expressing herself (i.e. a moustache for her father) She smiles a lot, tries to communicate a lot but mom and dad were not succesful at getting everything she tried to say. She was sad to learn I was hearing impaired and curious about my hearing aids. She loved carrying me around and playing with me. When her parents learned I was hearing impaired they asked mom: 'Were you relatives too? ' Are they?
