Other Kids

We came to northwest Turkey, 4 1/2 hours away from grandparents. Grandma came with us. She will stay for 10 days, we will stay here for three weeks. It is beautiful here, so green, so isolated nature and so beautiful people. It is humid and rainy, and definitely not as hot as we expected. We play outside in the garden where we stay afternoons when mom does her work. Neighborhood kids come and see me everyday. There are girls and boys, definitely older than me. It was only two kids at the beginning and they increase everyday--fine for me, dad gets bored ;) There are other babies who have come around after seeing me but I am still the only baby who sits around in a garden in the afternoons. Grandma put a white blanket under the gazebo first because of the fear of the ticks. The place where we stay said they spray the grass against ticks that cause Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever. We still check every body crevice every night and choose to stay on the cement under the gazebo 90% of the time.
