We went to a nearby town for a candy festival. The town has been there over 600 years and the people have made candies for the Ottoman sultans in Istanbul. We came the second day. They said the candy makers came from their shop and distributed candy after the Friday prayer. We went to the local food competition, watched the drummer and the local dances. Here the drummer himself also wears a skirt-like thing and shakes his belly. He also has a cool move, he bends backwards and picks money from the ground when somebody leaves money there. We also saw lots of little boys waiting to the circumcised. It was a wholesale circumcision ceremony organized by the mayor, over 50 boys waiting from ages 4 to 10. Here is a picture with one the anxious boys wandering around the park. Many of them were so anxious that their parents were carrying their hats and trying to cheer them up.
